About Us
The Suburban North Family YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the development of Spirit, Mind and Body offering programs and services to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen families.
The YMCA came into existence in Catasauqua in late 1966 and began providing programs and services in January of 1967. In late 1967, the YMCA rented the Taylor Building on Bath Ave. and expanded their program.
In
1974, with two substantial gifts of land and money, the “Y” opened
its new facility at its present site on Walnut Street.
With the new facility, the “Y” further expanded their staff,
programs,
services, and overall operation to include activities for pre-schoolers
to retirees, male and female alike.
From the beginning, Suburban North was a branch of the Allentown
YMCA. In January 1992, Suburban North Family YMCA became an
independent chartered association.
Today, YMCA programs and services are offered from 12 different
sites throughout the “Y” service area.
The Suburban North Family YMCA website was created with Memorial Funds in loving memory of Rose Greb.
